Fund OverviewThe Fund is index unaware with an absolute return focus. The Fund seeks to invest in companies generating strong cashflows at attractive valuations. In absence of attractive investments being identified, the fund will hold cash. Glenmore will use a fundamental, research driven investment process to identify undervalued securities.

The main driver of identifying potential investments will be bottom up company analysis, however macro-economic conditions will be considered as part of the investment thesis for each stock.
Manager CommentsThe Glenmore Australian Equities Fund returned +3.05% in January, taking 12-month performance to +40.58% versus the ASX200 Accumulation Index's +24.72%. Since inception in June 2017, the Fund has returned +26.62% p.a. versus the Index's +12.42%.

The Fund's up-capture and down-capture ratios for performance since inception, 175% and 72% respectively, indicate that, on average, the Fund has significantly outperformed in both rising and falling markets. The Fund's Sharpe ratio of 1.81 and Sortino ratio of 3.48 for performance since inception highlight its capacity to achieve superior risk-adjusted returns whilst avoiding the market's downside. By contrast, the Index's Sharpe and Sortino ratios for performance over the same period are 1.22 and 2.00 respectively.

Top contributors over the month included Polynovo, People Infrastructure, Arena REIT, Moelis Australia and Hotel Property Investments. Detractors included AP Eagers, Stanmore Coal and VGI Partners.

Glenmore noted January is typically a quiet month in terms of news flows, however in February they expect to see the vast majority of the Fund's holdings report their results which they believe will provide a key indication of how the Fund's investments are performing.
