| Fund Overview | Aurora Fortitude Absolute Return Fund is a multi-strategy market neutral fund specialising in ASX listed equities and derivatives. The core philosophy is the management of risk through a long volatility overlay incorporating listed equity and index derivatives. The multi-strategy approach includes M&A, Yield, Convergence and Long/Short strategies. The portfolio managers adopt an aggressive approach to managing downside risk whilst positioning the portfolio to benefit from positive alpha. |
| Manager Comments | Having reduced exposure over the Christmas and New Year break, the Aurora Fortitude Fund's positions were rebuilt in January as the market rallied strongly, particularly the Resources sector (+10.7%).
With the exception of the Options overlay book which suffered with volatility reducing as the market rose, all four strategies posted gains to varying degrees, contributing to the month's positive performance.
Looking forward the Manager anticipates that the February reporting season should present several opportunities as stock specific factors override the macro environment.
