| Fund Overview | The fund follows a systematic investment process yet takes advantage of the managers' skill and experience to optimise the timing element of the strategy implementation and improve risk control. The fund also has the flexibility to profit from all market conditions. The fund's strategy predominantly involves short term technically driven contrarian signals in the Australian and New Zealand dollar market and their crosses. The strategy has a focus on risk management and capital preservation at all times with particular attention given to the relationship between volatility and leverage. |
| Manager Comments | Excalibur says that it received a good sell signal in AUDYEN which contributed to their Absolute Return Fund's result of +2.58% in April. However a lack of follow through to the downside prevented it from being a +5% trade.
The manager syas that the current environment of rangebound markets suits Excalibur's model which should contribute to a year of returns close to the upper range of the fund's past years. |
